REASONS FOR DECREASE: Learn About Why Its Downhill From The Age Of 30

Do you always feel tired and prone to gain weight in no time?

This could be down to just a general lack of sleep or even greed.

But chances are that if you are a man, you could be suffering from low testosterone.

For a lot of years, medical professionals have regarded the idea of low testosterone levels as a bit of a joke.

In more recent times, this joke is increasingly being viewed from a serious, medical perspective.

Reasons for Decrease

Recently scientists in the University of California discovered that low levels of testosterone could increase the risk of death in men over the age of 50.

Furthermore, a study of 800 men found that those who suffered from low levels of testosterone had a 33 per cent increased risk of dying over an 18-year period compared to those with higher levels.

It is believed that as many as ten percent of British men are thought to suffer from low testosterone levels.

But amazingly, not many men are even aware that they may have this problem.

Thankfully, as a result of a change of attitude towards this subject from medical professionals this condition is now appropriately named as “Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome”.

Testosterone deficiency syndrome is caused when the testicles (which produce testosterone) stop functioning normally.

Another cause is when the body’s overall hormone production becomes imbalanced.

Age plays a significant role in the production of testosterone.

Typically, testosterone levels fall by approximately one percent a year by the age of 30.

Age related testosterone decline is sometimes referred to as the male menopause.

Other factors that potentially reduce testosterone levels in the body include obesity, diabetes and excessive alcohol consumption.

Obesity and diabetes coupled with alcohol lead to the formation of fat which cause the body to pump out the female hormone known as oestrogen which counteracts against testosterone.

It is important to note that men don’t necessarily have to be overweight in order to develop testosterone deficiency syndrome.

Men can be fit and trim and still suffer from testosterone deficiency syndrome.

Damage to the testicles as a result of suffering from mumps or chemotherapy treatment for cancer can affect testosterone levels.

This could lead to the increased risk of premature death.

Low testosterone has a direct correlation to muscle strength, healthy bones, a good mood and high energy levels.

A lack of testosterone can lead to weight gain, loss of hair on the face and body and consistent joint aches and pains.

A lot of men mistakenly blame their age for their relationship problems, but this could all be down to a hormonal imbalance.

A medical condition that leads to an unusual drop in testosterone levels can normally be fixed by taking a supplemental testosterone booster.
